New smile getting closer

Today was the next step in this adventure towards a pretty smile. Today she took the impression for the gums, piled a ton of goop on the side that goes against my gums, shoved these monsters in my small mouth telling me to open wider the whole time and then told me to bite down and hold for seven minutes. Oh! I had to move my tongue from side to side and to the roof of my mouth too before I clamped down. Then she told me to relax my lips. What lips?? She took them away a week ago!! She told me not to touch my face because the stuff she had on there wouldn't come off if I got it on my shirt.
While waiting I looked a bit at a magazine and then decided to pull my itouch out of my shirt pocket and play some Angry Birds while waiting. I could see my face in the screen. Uhm!! Imagine having vanilla ice cream between where your lips used to be and your nose as well as on your cheek and down your chin. You have the visual correct if you see that. Add to the a mouth that is closed with this stuff all over the lips and your mouth looking overstuffed. Not a pretty sight by any means. I had to remind myself this is not the smile yet!!
After seven minutes she has to unlock my jaw and crank my mouth open far enough to get this monstrosity out of my mouth again. It was a little bit of a struggle and I was afraid of pain so I wasn't helping 100%. There was only a little discomfort that went away as quickly as it came.
Now I go back on Friday afternoon for the wax fitting of the whole works. The gums and teeth. It will be my first chance to find out what this might all be leading to in a less messy fashion. She said they will put them in and make sure they are comfy making any adjustments needed. Then comes the magic day!! She said Tuesday!! I don't care what day as long as it is before July 1st!! The holiday weekend will be better than ever with a set of pretty teeth.
